Iran Threatens Nuclear Withdrawal Amid Sanction Pressures

Iran has warned it may suspend cooperation with nuclear talks if European nations push forward with economic sanctions. The country's Supreme National Security Council stated that "those arrangements will be suspended" in response to any hostile actions, including the revival of previously closed resolutions.

Tehran reiterated its threat to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons if pressure continues. This escalation follows June strikes by U.S. and Israeli forces on Iranian nuclear facilities, after which Iran blocked all foreign access to its sites, citing security concerns.

Despite a tentative agreement reached last week between Iran and the IAEA during talks in Cairo, European powers remain skeptical. The UK, France, and Germany have set a September 28 deadline for Iran to comply with transparency demands regarding its uranium stockpiles before potentially reinstating UN sanctions.
